Decent tool, some minor issues

I purchased the Premium Search Plan to do some deeper digging for a personal project. The AI Face Recognition was surprisingly accurate for most images, even some older ones. The Public Profile Finder feature was also quite effective at linking accounts. My main gripe was with the Batch Image Search – it felt a bit slow when I uploaded a larger set of photos, and the interface could be smoother for managing those results. Customer support was responsive when I had a question about billing, which was a plus. Overall, it's a solid service for the price, but there's room for improvement on the batch processing speed.

Reliable for my needs

I've been using Surfface for about six months now, mostly for the OSINT Face Search and Identity Verification Tool. I started with a Basic Search Plan and upgraded to the Unlimited Search Subscription after the first month because I was using it so much. This last time I needed to verify a contact for a professional matter, and it performed just as consistently as previous times. The Face Match Report always gives a good breakdown. I've tried a few competitors like SocialCatfish before, but Surfface has always been more reliable for the specific types of searches I do. It just works, every time.

Worked pretty good

I used the Basic Search Plan the other day to try and find an old college buddy. Uploaded a pic from like ten years ago and it actually pulled up some of his social media stuff. Was pretty neat, honestly. Got me what I needed without a fuss.

Is Surfface actually better than PimEyes? I've used PimEyes before, but curious if Surfface offers something more.

M Mike 2 months ago
For me, Surfface was a bit more user-friendly and seemed to pull up some different results. Worth comparing with their trial credits if you have some.

I'd say it depends on what you're looking for. Surfface felt a bit more focused on the identity verification side, if that makes sense. PimEyes is more general, I think.

Hey, thinking about trying Surfface. How accurate is it really for finding people from a pic? Worth the money?

I used it last month for an old friend I lost touch with, and it actually worked! Found some public social media stuff. Was pretty surprised.

Yeah, it's pretty good. Not 100% like magic, but way better than just Google image search. I'd say give the free credits a shot first.

Can you actually cancel the subscription anytime, or are you locked in for the whole period if you get monthly?

J Jared 1 month ago
You can cancel anytime, even with monthly. Just means your current period finishes and then it won't renew. Did it once myself.

Yep, no problem cancelling. It's not like some places that try to make it impossible. Pretty straightforward.

Thinking of getting an annual plan. Are there usually any decent discounts around Black Friday or something like that?

T Tara 2 months ago
Definitely check around Black Friday or Cyber Monday, I snagged a good deal last year for my annual. They usually have something then.

Yeah, they usually do. And sometimes if you sign up for their emails, they'll send out special offers too, not just holidays.

Anyone know if they actually keep your photos after you upload them for a search? Kinda private stuff.

C Cleo C. 2 months ago
Nah, they say they don't. From what I remember reading, they delete 'em right after the search is done. Seems pretty secure.

That's what I understood too. I think they only use it for the actual search then it's gone.
